Today we will be reading along to a story and painting a set of goldfish, each with a different orientation of their bodies: a fish with a top view, a fish with a side view, and a fish with a bottom view.
Learning intentions:
* Learn to draw subjects with different perspectives
* Practice watercolor painting
Materials:
1. White copy paper
2. Watercolor set & brush
3. Black crayon
Instructions:
1. Watch Ms. Crilley’s video lesson.
2. With a black crayon, draw the outlines of the three fish by following along with the video:
2a. Draw the outline of one of the larger fish from the top view.
2b. Draw the outline of one of the larger fish from the bottom view.
2c. Draw the outline of the smaller fish from the side view.
Notice how when you can draw the fish different sizes, it makes them appear either closer, or further away.
3. Draw the fins and eyes on all three fish with your black crayon.
4. Draw the details on the fish: add scales and gills to the three fish, and then add some bubbles escaping from their mouths.
5. Paint the three fish orange with your watercolor set.
6. Paint the background blue with your watercolor set.
(Optional) Watch & listen to the story in the video, “A Fish Out of Water”, and stay to the end to see my goldfish!
